Wedding invitations are an important start to any wedding, this is your chance to set the theme/colour idea and get your guests excited about what’s to come. You can be as traditional or as funky as you like, but make sure they are YOU!
Wedding invitations don’t have to be expensive, check out your local printing company, head to your nearest Hobby Craft or simply source some fantastic products on a good old google search. My favourite is eBay, you can find some fab deals!

For inspiration, check out some amazing designs below:

There are so many unique ways of keeping hold of those precious messages left by your wedding guests, but don’t stick to the bog standard guest book that will collect dust on the shelf. Check out just a handful of really amazing ideas I came across.

Guest book stones

20130121-225621.jpg

I love this idea! It’s so different and you get to keep them on show in your house as a constant memory. It can add to a rustic themed wedding.
Www.etsy.com provide a huge range and I love these heart ones especially. There is one kit on Etsy that costs $150.00. In this kit you get 150 ore-glossed river rocks, 6 sharpie pens and a wishing stone luminaries sign with a choice of two messages to your guests. Beware of the delivery cost to the UK. You could easily create this quite cheaply by shopping about or buying things separately. Even better, get out in the countryside and start collection some stones.

Guest Book Jenga
Everyone knows the game Jenga and this wedding guest book idea combines wedding guest messages and Jenga, it’s a win win situation! It could even keep your guests entertained in the evening reception. There is a kit by Tumbling Timbers who make handmade Jenga kits for around $100 but again you could create this yourselves with a standard Jenga set going for between £5-£20, you could even look on eBay for a second hand set.

Wedding guest Finger Print Tree
Finger print trees are rally popular and can be used at all memorable celebrations, I created one for my mums 50th birthday party the other day and everyone loved it and took the idea with them. You can create this yourself buy enlarging a tree design you like and adding your wedding/celebration date, pop to hobby craft and grab a range of dew drop ink pads by versa magic and make sure you take baby wipes! You can get guests to leave just their finger prints to create the leaves to your tree and they can add their names if you like. You can then frame the off infer print tree for a gorgeous a gorgeous present. You can also buy the kits with frame from www.notonthehighstreet.co.uk

Polaroid Guest Book
Set up a table with a blank book, pens and a Polaroid camera and get your guests to take funny pictures, position them in the book and leave a message. Great alternative to a guest book.

I was very lucky to be a bridesmaid at Barrington Hall back in 2011 and couldn’t get over how such another stunning venue Cambridge has to offer, could remain so hidden. Luckily my Grandma had mentioned it when discussing wedding venues over lunch so I thought I would go and see it for myself and I was instantly in love with it! It has history in the family as my great aunty used to work there when it was part of Barrington Cement works.
It is just across the road from Barrington church which is ideal for guests should you opt for a church service.
On arrival, hidden by trees is a grand white manor house surrounded by perfectly pruned gardens. When entering the house you are greater by extravagant shinning chandlers, marble floors and pristine decor. You are led through to the hall that offers either two separate rooms or for larger events can be combined. Here we were offered per wedding breakfast drinks and nibbles. These rooms were perfect due to the occasional shower we received but somehow they were timed perfectly to still get photos on the steps leading to the immaculate gardens. There is the option for an outdoor ceremony at the top of the steps should you wish to brave the British weather.
We were led to the marquee erected within the grounds where tables were perfectly laid with crockery and crisp white linen, the flowers by Mooi offered an overwhelming centrepiece that I couldn’t take my eyes off and the fairy lights only added to the romantic affect the couple had dreamt of. Check out their website for pictures: http://www.barringtonhall.co.uk/index.html

Flowers by Mooi are a Cambridge based florist Nicola did an incredible job. We met Nicola at a Wedding Fayre and warmed to her straight away as she was so passionate about flower design and had some really unique ideas! Check out her fabulous gallery here: http://www.flowersbymooi.co.uk
